The Central Ave location provides women and women with children in crisis shelter for up to 3 months. If shelter is needed for longer, then the support workers will work to find other housing for the client. The Central Ave location also provides shelter for youth of all genders. The facility is staffed 24/7 by support workers who are LGBTQ2S-sensitive and culturally sensitive. They can provide referrals to community agencies, addictions and trauma counselling, and help with resumes and job searching. The Youth Program provides crisis and long-term placements for ages 16-18 (sometimes even up to 21). While residing at the Central location, youth have access to meals, cultural activities, recreation, youth centered activities, life skills, and 24-hour support. Youth may self-refer but are typically referred though the Ministry of Social Services, the Young Offenders Program, or through ICFS.
