Str8 Up is a non-profit that works with youth ages typically 15-30 who are affiliated with gangs, but who have a desire to leave that lifestyle behind. They are devoted to helping these youths find supports, such as Al Anon and other addiction services, housing, as well as outreach services and programming. Youth can get in contact with Str8, who will then provide them with a case worker who can refer them to Str8 Up’s services. A misconception about Str8 Up is that they help recruit for gangs, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Str8 Up’s services are completely voluntary, and they want to help as many people as possible to achieve healthier lifestyles.
Their office hours are 9 am-5 pm, Monday to Friday and can be reached at 306-763-3001.
