The Ministry of Social Services provides information and services such as adoption, foster care, child protection, financial assistance, affordable housing, and disability services. They can provide support and assistance specifically for youth aged 16-17 when a youth cannot return home due to concerns of safety or has no relative willing to take responsibility for the youth. The youth will be connected with a case worker, who will work to support the youth. Applications for the various services can be found on their website.

Their hours of operation are 8 am – 5 pm, Monday to Friday, and you can call them at: 306-953-2422.
